Hysterectomy and Myomectomy

If your life has been affected by uterine issues such as fibroids or uterine polyps that can lead to infertility and - in some cases - greatly increase your risk of cancer, then you may be considering myomectomy or hysterectomy surgery to resolve these conditions.

Myomectomy involves the surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus, relieving discomfort and increasing the chances of conception.

Hysterectomy involves removal of part or all of the uterus to treat more extreme cases of uterine polyps - growths on the lining of the organ that result from overgrowth of cells and are usually benign but can be cancerous, or become so over time. This procedure is usually a last resort, and can also be used to treat prolapse of the pelvic organs, cancer or adenomyosis - a condition causing the thickening of the uterus.

MAS Gynaecology offers both of these procedures privately, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about either.
